Welcome to the web-site of
Wesley Centenary Methodist Church,
Hamilton Road, Bangor.

We extend a warm welcome to members of the congregation old and new, and visitors to our town who would take the opportunity of worshipping with us at our Services and Meetings.

Visit our Weekly Events page for details of times for Worship and Meetings.

Our new minister, Rev. Colin Meneely, sends greetings and tells us about himself and his family in the following words:

"I was converted to Christ in my late teens and at a time when I was serving an apprenticeship in aeronautical engineering in Short Bros. as well as serving as a part- time police officer in the RUC.

I met my wife Barbara in 1979 when I entered training for the ordained ministry at Emmanuel College, Birkenhead, England where Barbara was born and grew up. We were married in 1981 and commenced ministry with the Free Methodist church in 1982 when I was appointed to my first church. I was ordained in 1984 and served in a number of places in Ireland as well as Malawi, Africa.

In 2002 I transferred into full connexion with the Methodist Church and served as Circuit Superintendent in both the Agnes Street and Portadown circuits.

I am interested in adult education and for several years taught in the Department of Lifelong Learning, QUB where I still maintain an interest in research and teaching.

Barbara nurses in the Ulster Hospital, Stephen will take up his first post as a doctor in August in Liverpool, Paul will be studying and working next year in an Anglican Church in Sheffield, Heather will commence studies for her 'A' levels at Hunterhouse College, and I will be entering my 27th year in pastoral ministry!"

Colin & Barbara, Stephen, Paul and Heather, we wish God's blessing on you all and pray for a smooth transition for you as you face new and challenging opportunities.
